Mukesh Ambani

Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani again becomes India’s Richest person in 2024 with a net worth of ₹8.7 Lakh Crore ($105.4 billion). Mukesh Ambani is currently the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, the most valuable company of India. Reliance Industries involves in various sectors from petrochemicals, oil and gas to retail, telecom and more.

The 66-yr old billionaire is the richest not just in India, but in entire Asia. He has three children – Akash, Anant and Isha who actively handle different divisions of the conglomerate. His residence “Antilia” in Mumbai, is the second most expensive building in the world, valued at over $2 billion (₹16,629 crores).


Gautam Adani

Gautam Shantilal Adani, an Indian Industrialist, is the founder and chairman of Adani Groups, a multinational conglomerate associated in port development, airports, mining and green-power generation in India. With a fortune of ₹6.22 lakh crores ($74.9 billion), Adani is recognized as India’s largest airport operator and also controls Mundra port in Gujarat, the country’s largest.

In 2023, Adani Groups was accused of financial fraud and stock market manipulation by a U.S firm Hindenburg Research. This wiped out over $120 billion in the market value of Adani Groups at that time. Adani is 16th Richest person in the world in 2024.


Shiv Nadar

Shiv Nadar is the founder and chairman emeritus of HCL technologies and Shiv Nadar Foundation. He founded HCL in 1970s and is one of the reasons for the transformation of IT sector in India. Nadar has a net worth of ₹2.9 lakh crores ($35.1 billion). Shiv Nadar was recognized with Padma Bhushan award in 2008, the third prestigious civilian award of India, for his efforts in IT industry.

The 78-yrs-old Nadar is a great philanthropist and has been retaining the title of ‘India’s most generous’ for third consecutive year.


Savitri Jindal & family

Savitri Jindal, Indian businesswoman and politician, is the fourth richest person and the richest woman in India, with a fortune of ₹2.36 lakh crores ($28.4 billion). Savitri Jindal was the chairperson emerita of O.P. Jindal Group, a global conglomerate with business spanning across steel manufacturing, mining, power, industrial gases, and seaport facilities.

The various sectors of the business are managed by her four sons – Prithviraj, Sajjan, Ratan and Naveen Jindal. Savitri is a member of the INC political party in India.


Cyrus Poonawalla

With ₹2.02 lakh crores ($24.4 billion) of fortune, Cyrus Poonawalla is the fifth richest in India and 67th in the World. Cyrus Poonawalla’s main source of wealth is from Serum Institute of India, which is world’s largest vaccine manufacturer.

Cyrus Poonawalla is the chairman and managing director of Cyrus Poonawalla Group, in which Serum Institute of India is a part. His wealth had seen a sudden increase after the widespread of COVID-19.



Dilip Shanghvi

Dilip Shanghvi is an Indian businessman and is the founder and managing director of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. He has a net worth of ₹1.86 lakh crores ($22.4 billion) and is the sixth richest in the country. Dilip was awarded with Padma Shri in 2016, the fourth highest civilian award, by Indian government. He is also the chairman of the board of governors at IIT Bombay.


Kumar Birla

Kumar Mangalam Birla is an Indian industrialist and the chairman of Aditya Birla Group, one of the largest conglomerates in India. Aditya Birla Group is active in 14 sectors including aluminum, cement, finance, fashion, and education. Kumar Birla is also the chancellor of the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani. His net worth amounts to ₹1.59 lakh crores ($19.2 billion).


Kushal Pal Singh

Kushal Pal Singh is an Indian billionaire, chairman and CEO of DLF limited, which is a real estate developing firm. With about 10,255 acres of estimated land bank, DLF is India’s biggest listed real estate firm by market cap. Started in 1961 by his father-in-law, DLF had Kushal Pal Singh as its chairman for more than five decades. Kushal Pal Singh is now worth ₹1.46 lakh crores ($17.6 billion), as of January 18, 2024.


Radhakishan Damani

Radhakishan Damani is the man behind DMart departmental store, which is quite popular in India for its affordable price of FMCG and other goods. Damani is the founder and chairman of retail chain Avenue Supermarts Limited.

Possessing a fortune of ₹1.38 lakh crores ($16.7 billion), Damani is often referred to as the Retail King of India. He is also a prominent investor and exercises control over his investment ventures via his company, Bright Star Investments Limited.


Lakshmi Mittal

Lakshmi Mittal is the executive chairman of ArcelorMittal, renowned as the world’s second largest steel manufacturer. In 2021, he passed on the CEO role to his son, Aditya Mittal. Lakshmi Mittal has a net worth of ₹1.38 lakh crores ($16.6 billion) and is 107th richest in the world. Lakshmi Mittal was the first Indian to be listed in the top-ten richest people in the world by Forbes in 2005.

Mittal has been a member of board of directors of Goldman Sachs since 2008. Lakshmi Mittal resides as member in various committees and associations including World Steel Association, European Round Table of Industrialists and so on. He is currently based in United Kingdom.
