Ministry of Education of India reports the Top 10 Colleges in India under Engineering, Medical, Management and overall domains.
India is in a stage of exponential growth, into a manufacturing and technological hub in the world, striving to supersede China’s dominance in the world. The vital factor that contributes for this is its excelling education provided by its top colleges which produces skilled workers for companies in and out India.
Here are the top 10 colleges in India under engineering, medical and management realms, according to the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) of India.
Top 10 Engineering Colleges in India
- Indian Institute of Technology – Madras (IIT-M)
- Indian Institute of Technology – Delhi (IIT-D)
- Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay (IIT-B)
- Indian Institute of Technology – Kanpur (IIT-K)
- Indian Institute of Technology – Roorkee
- Indian Institute of Technology – Kharagpur
- Indian Institute of Technology – Guwahati
- Indian Institute of Technology – Hyderabad
- National Institute of Technology – Tiruchirappalli
- Jadavpur University
IITs are the best engineering colleges not just in India, but also worldwide. Out of 100 top engineering institutes in the World, five are from India with all being IITs. As you can see here too, eight out of ten top-10 colleges are IITs. IITs predominate in producing proficient engineers, who now resides in core teams of top firms like Apple, Google and Microsoft. Earlier this year, Tim Cook and Sundar Pichai, the CEOs of Apple and Google are fighting for two high-in-demand IITians, to pull them in their team. In fact, Sundar Pichai, himself, is a graduate of IIT-Kharagpur.
IIT-Delhi and IIT-Bombay also outdoes in the list of top-10 management institutes of India.

- Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi
- Kasturba Medical College, Manipal

As usual, AIIMS – Delhi tops the list of best medical colleges in India, and the list of top-10 medical colleges remains mostly the same as last year. Banaras Hindu University which was in top fifth position last year, now pushed to eighth in 2023. And Kasturba Medical College jumps from tenth to ninth place.
