Google announces its new AI called “Bard” – a ChatGPT rival

Google revealed a new conversational AI service, a ChatGPT-rival called “Bard”, with wider availability in coming weeks.

The trending OpenAI’s AI-chatbot ChatGPT had amassed 100 million users within 2 months, engraving the fastest-growing app surpassing Google & Meta’s platforms. The wide reach of the new upgraded artificial intelligence technology – Generative AI had hassled the peers like Google forcing for instant compelling actions in order to sustain in the race. Been in the unofficial talks, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai recently confirmed that the firm is to soon launch AI Search called “Bard”.

Indeed, Google sorts over 20 AI apps and services on the shelf, ready to launch anytime this year. Amidst those, a service included “Apprentice Bard”, which is the conversational AI in the search-page of Google, we briefed it recently.

Google’s take on the AI kicked off back in 2017, says Sundar Pichai and the company’s works on creating language models were the breakthrough in the field of AI. A next-generation language and conversation model powered by “Language Model for Dialogue Applications” – LaMDA has been relaying the company’s AI goal, prospering new opportunities.

Google now equips LaMDA into the conversational AI “Bard”, which is currently being tested and will be available to the public in the coming weeks.

“Bard seeks to combine the breadth of the world’s knowledge with the power, intelligence and creativity of large language models,” writes Sundar Pichai. Likely as ChatGPT, Bard will be sourcing the world knowledge from the web, and renders it in user-specified way, able to interpret, compare and comprehend the information and delivering them in a clearly understandable search-result.

“Bard can be an outlet for creativity and a launchpad for curiosity”, mentions the CEO. Google upgrades Bard to be the state-of-the-art AI, where it’s well known of the recent events too. That’s something a step ahead of ChatGPT, as the latter is unaware of the events of last two years.

Though the company is in the real-compete with ChatGPT that bestowed with Microsoft’s huge investment of $10 billion, Google advances safe and cautious in sharing the tools with the public.

It is concerned with the discrepancies and misuses of the generative-AI and had always limited the public-use of such applications.

The LaMDA version accessible via its AI Test Kitchen app is extremely constrained to answer only a few queries. The firm hadn’t availed the recently launched “MusicLM” too, which converts text prompts to music, calling it to have the ‘risks of misappropriation of creative content associated to the use case’.

However, the AI-powered search results are promised by the CEO to be rolling out on Google soon.
