GM’s Flying Taxi

General Motors is telegraphing that it, too, plans to join the burgeoning eVTOL air-taxi business — and the company plans to do it in style. As part of its virtual CES expo, GM Exhibit Zero, the automaker on Tuesday revealed renderings and animations of a Cadillac-branded personal aircraft powered by batteries.

The sleek, electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft would be GM’s first foray into aerial mobility, an the company says this four-rotor aircraft is powered by a 90-kWh battery to deliver speeds of up to 56 mph. Beyond that, details are scarce.

Ryzen 5000 Series Processors

AMD unveiled its Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors to power the next generation of laptops. The new Ryzen chips are built of “Zen 3” architecture, providing unparalleled performance and setting new standards of power-efficiency thanks to the 7nm process. Several brands, including Asus, Acer, Lenovo, and Gigabyte, among others have announced gaming and commercial laptops with the new Ryzen 5000 processors.

LG Rollable Smartphone

At CES 2021, LG showed off some new footage of its super-secret new Explorer Project device, Rollable Smartphone. Although there wasn’t much other information divulged about the LG rollable phone, it definitely seems like it could be landing soon.

Unlike previous CES events, this time out, Samsung focused on bigger-picture technology as opposed to listing dozens of new products.

Razor makes a situational sensation with its new N95 facemask, to fight COVID-19. The mask equips an amplifier that sounds your voice, so that you need not be loud every time. Hazel mask is also transparent, to show your lip moments for a convenient talk and has LED lights on it.

Lenovo’s AR Headset

Lenovo’s AR headset is being touted as the glasses of the future. The ThinkReality A3 headset is designed for enterprise consumers. It can handle up to five stereoscopic 1080p displays, sports an 8 MP RGB camera, and dual fish-eye cameras for room-scale tracking. It can also be plugged into a PC or select Motorola smartphones. The Lenovo ThinkReality A3 headset will be available in mid-2021.
