You can now generate stunning AI images directly in WhatsApp, thanks to the integration of powerful artificial intelligence tools.
The initiative by companies like Meta and OpenAI now lets you to turn text prompts into visual masterpieces at your convenience in WhatsApp app. Just by getting into the relevant AI model’s chat or by calling Meta AI, you can generate AI images in WhatsApp easily. Currently there are two ways to do it – one using Meta AI and the other using ChatGPT.
Generating AI Images with Meta AI
Meta AI allows you to create images directly in your WhatsApp chats, powered by artificial intelligence that interprets your text prompts, using a service from Meta. This feature makes WhatsApp a versatile tool for visual creation. To generate an AI image using Meta AI, the process is straightforward.
To generate an AI image in a chat with Meta AI:
- Open the chat with Meta AI.
- Type imagine in the message field followed by your text prompt.
- Click send. The generated image will appear in the chat.
You can also create AI images in any chats or groups. Just type @ in the message field in any chat, and then click imagine. Enter your text prompt in the message field. Click send. The generated image will be displayed in the chat.
After an image is generated, you have the convenient option to download it. To do so, hover over the AI image, click menu, and then click Download.
Meta AI also allows you to update existing images you generated. In a chat with Meta AI:
- Hover over the AI image, then click menu.
- Click Reply.
- Enter your new text prompt in the message field.
- Click send. The updated image will be displayed.
It’s important to note that Meta AI and some experiences are currently only available in limited countries and might not be accessible to everyone yet. Currently, only English, Arabic, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese are supported.
Using ChatGPT’s ImageGen on WhatsApp

- You’ll see ChatGPT’s official chat, click that.
- Now, you can write a prompt and have your AI-image generated.
While this allows you to start generating images immediately, OpenAI recommends linking your ChatGPT account to the service to unlock more image generations.
