Likely almost each & every tech-firm which gradually entered into Smartphone market, from Google to Jio, it’s time for them to give a shot onto the launching of ‘Smart Glasses’. Just few days after Facebook and Ray-Ban announced their Smart glasses, Xiaomi made public its Smart Glass, a little more advanced than Facebook’s vision.
Xiaomi wants people to have a shift from Smartphone to Smart Glasses & its own ‘Xiaomi Smart Glass’, that’s been called as, clears the path for that. Xiaomi Smart Glasses are quite more interesting, being packed with MicroLED display inbuilt into the right lens, providing you a crystal-clear screen on your sight of vision. Weighing just 51 grams, the glass looks and works prominent.
Fitting the imaging system seamlessly into the frame, MicroLED undoubtedly is the most optimal choice. Like OLEDs, MicroLEDs pixels are individually lit – its emissive property allows for brighter displays and deeper blacks. But MicroLEDs have a higher pixel density and longer lifespan while having a simpler structure, allowing for compact and smooth display.
The display chip measures just 2.4mmx2.02mm, smaller than a grain of rice. Adopting optical waveguide technology which refracts lights at 1800, the MicroLED display accurately transmits light beams to the human eye through the microscopic grating structure of the optical waveguide lens.
The monochrome display shows you things like clock, texts, notifications & navigation instructions. Good in that is, the virtual texts & icons appear transparent so that you can view through it.
Never take the glasses for granted, it houses a total of 497 components in it, including miniature sensors and communication modules.
We need to build an interaction logic which “does not disturb ordinary use, but displays key information in a timely manner”.
Xiaomi glasses are independent from your smartphone, meaning it can be handled separately as a gadget, instead of being just an accessory. The Glass can make and receive calls, take photos with its 5MP camera mounted on it, read texts, get translations by viewing through the camera & more, all without the help of your smartphone at all. Xiaomi AI assists the features on smart functioning in the glass.

All this makes it possible for Xiaomi Smart Glasses to resemble traditional glasses form factor, but surpass other existing smart glasses in function.
These glasses go parallel with Google Glass, which also had a built-in display but were dissevered its mass production, with Google instead turning them into a tool for professionals & engineers. Xiaomi’s version if it could avoid that fate will be revealed in Future. As of now, Xiaomi Smart Glass is for everyone (one who buys, actually).
