Google is gearing up its AI arm for the launch of AI apps & platforms, as the firm wants to hold back its name and fame in the search war, technology and indeed AI.
The tech-giant is in the verge of either growing stronger or losing the race with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, as the new AI chatbot witnesses never-before blooming in the history of technology.
Google thereby announces alarming state, planning to launch over 20 AI apps in its Google I/O event in May 2023. Amidst those 20, here are 8 Google AI products expected to be released on the I/O event, according to a report by NY times.
Wallpaper Maker for Pixel Smartphone
A new AI app that generates pleasant wallpapers for its Pixel smartphones.
AI Test Kitchen
AI Test Kitchen is an app by Google where people can learn about, experience, and give feedback on emerging AI technology. Our goal is to learn, improve, and innovate responsibly on AI together. Similar to a real test kitchen, AI Test Kitchen will serve a rotating set of experimental demos. These aren’t finished products, but they’re designed to give you a taste of what’s becoming possible with AI in a responsible way.
Google is expected to launch third version of the app.
Image Generation Studio
A Dall-E2 like Image generating platform is on the works, that creates and edits images instantly using AI.
AR Try-On
In the shopping sector, Google conjoins AI with augmented reality for a new shopping try-on, likely as it did with its makeup try-on.
Maya App
Maya App is another shopping-kind-of app that Google is working on equipping AI, for users to visualize three-dimensional shoes.
MakerSuite
Enterprises and businesses will be able to create their own AI prototypes in internet browsers using this MakerSuite platform. MakerSuite is expected to have two “Pro” versions, according to the leaks from the meeting held in Google’s office.

Google also expects to announce a tool to make it easier to build apps for Android smartphones called Colab + Android Studio, that will generate, complete and fix code for the users.
PaLM-Coder 2
Google is also working on another code generation and completion tool called PaLM-Coder 2, aimed to ease the coding process. The tech giant indeed wants to deploy AI for writing and repairing codes, even in its offices, to get rid of or replace software-writing humans.

LaMDA
A ChatGPT alternative – LaMDA is “Language Model for Dialogue Applications”, which is a conversation technology developed by Google Research in 2017. Google ensures LaMDA will be adhering to AI principles, making sure it is socially beneficial avoiding bias and so on. The AI Chatbot was able to refer to concrete facts and events while having the conversation during its presentation. “It’s really impressive to see how LaMDA can carry on a conversation about any topic,” said Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
Now, LaMDA team has been asked to prioritize working on to compete with ChatGPT.
Apprentice Bard
Google’s staffs are currently testing an in-house AI chatbot called “Apprentice Bard”, that’s similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. LaMDA technology will be supporting this chatbot and it’s capable of integrating recent events into its responses, getting a step ahead of ChatGPT, which is less aware of events after 2021.
Apprentice Bard behaves more like a UPSC preparing guy, who is up-to-date with all current affairs. A report demonstrated that the Bard could share a response to queries on Google’s recent layoffs.
AI Search Page
It’s not over still. The tech-giant has also seen testing an alternate search page that could use a question-and-answer format, according to designs viewed by CNBC. One view showed the home search page offering five different prompts for potential questions placed directly under the main search bar, replacing the current “I’m feeling lucky” bar. A small chat logo was also visible inside the far-right end of the search bar.
On asking a question, the search results a gray bubble directly under the search bar, offering human-like responses than like typical search results. The page also suggests several follow-up questions to the first one, like the existing “People also ask” in the search-results page.
Google will be exploring AI a lot
“We have long been focused on developing and deploying AI to improve people’s lives,” a Google spokesperson said.
