Google’s new “Flow” is the best AI-video-generator ever as it can do this

Google Flow for making AI videos

Google dropped a stunning new AI tool called “Flow”, which is capable of generating ultra-realistic videos from prompts and can also add audio into it.

The world of digital creation is constantly evolving, with artificial intelligence playing an increasingly significant role. For filmmakers, marketers, or anyone looking to quickly visualize ideas, generating video content can be a time-consuming process.

Google is stepping into this space with Flow, a new tool designed to simplify the creation of AI-generated videos. Announced at Google I/O 2025, Flow aims to provide a more intuitive way to turn concepts into moving images.

What is Google Flow?

Flow is Google’s answer to making AI video generation more accessible and streamlined. It’s presented as a tool that helps users easily create AI-generated video content. While not explicitly described as a full-fledged editing suite, it has “scenebuilder” tools suggesting a capability to arrange generated content.

The core idea behind Flow, according to Google, is to help creators, particularly filmmakers, quickly get their ideas “on paper” in a visual format. Powered by Veo 3, Google’s latest AI-video-generator model, Flow is capable to generate both video and audio together and sync it all together.

Turning Ideas into Clips

Flow leverages the power of AI models to transform your descriptions into video. You can use various inputs, such as text-to-video prompts, where you simply describe the scene or concept you want to see. Additionally, Flow supports ingredients-to-video prompts, allowing you to provide a few images that the AI can use as inspiration alongside your text prompt.

These prompts result in the generation of eight-second AI-generated clips. Once you have multiple clips, Flow provides scenebuilder tools that enable you to stitch these clips together, effectively building a sequence or narrative from your generated content. One demo showed the potential for seamless transitions and dynamic “camera” movements within these generated scenes.

AI-model powering Flow

Flow is announced alongside new and updated AI models from Google, including the new Veo 3 video generation model, updates to the Veo 2 model, and the new Imagen 4 image generation model. The Veo 3 model is highlighted for its improved quality, ease of prompting, and the ability to generate video and sound together, including dialogue. It’s also noted to be better at understanding longer prompts and correctly handling a succession of events. The Veo 2 updates add features like camera controls and object removal.

Availability

Flow was launched on May 20, 2025. It is currently available in the US as part of Google’s subscription plans for advanced AI tools. Users can access Flow through:

With Flow, Google is clearly aiming to lower the barrier to entry for creating visual content, giving creators a faster way to explore and realize their video ideas using the power of generative AI.
