Humans will be immortal by 2030 with help of this technology: Former Google Scientist

A former Google Engineer and a futurist had claimed that humans will be immortal by 2030, enabling to live forever, as technology will help us to.

Scientists and researchers are working for the clue of life, maneuvering the existence – time, making humans to live longer or be immortal, living forever. Over years, mankind has been digging deeper into the meaning of brain, experiences, life, earth and universe. Though we hadn’t find complete answers for humans’ brain, scientists had mapped the exact structure and functioning of insect’s brain, recently.

Following this exploration of ourselves, a former Google engineer who is also a futurist claims humans will be achieving immortality by 2030 with the help of nanorobots and nano technology. This is how and why he claims that.

Attaining Human Immortality

Ray Kurzweil, Google engineer and eminent futurist’s prediction of human immortality is not a speculation about future, but a mere enrichment of technology’s capabilities. Revealed via a YouTube series by tech vlogger Adagio, Ray’s comments surfaced online. In his book written in 2005, ‘The Singularity is Near’, he predicted that technology will allow humans to achieve everlasting life by 2030.

The advancements and deep insights of genetics, robotics and nanotechnology will pave the way for tiny nanorobots, small enough to run through the veins of human body in the near future. Nanorobots are 50-100nm wide minute robots, currently being developed for medical applications, for imagery and task completions.

In less than a decade, humans will have created technology that lets microscopic robots, sent to repair our bodies on a cellular level, turning around the aging process and also illness, he says. Nanorobots and nanotechnology, thus let people to fix any bugs or errors within our body, as we would have started to see our body as another machine or equipment. It would also allow people to eat whatever they want while staying thin and energized.

His Other Predictions

Kurzweil had also foreseen, “2029 is the consistent date I have predicted for when an AI will pass a valid Turing test and therefore achieve human levels of intelligence”, according to the New York Post.

“I have set the date 2045 for the ‘Singularity’ which is when we will multiply our effective intelligence a billionfold by merging with the artificial intelligence we have created,” he added.

Many of his earlier claims had come true, including this: He predicted that consumers will be able to design their own clothes with precise measurement and style requirements from their home computers by 1999. He told the World’s best chess player would lose to a computer in the Chess game by 2000 & it had happened in 1997, when IBM computer won a chess world champion. And in 2009, people would primarily use portable computers, in a wide range of sizes and shapes.

While, scientists are already into works of reverse aging and had found potential clues in it, immortality could be a thing for people in future. However, it’s not a conclusion, but hopes into future.

Ray Kurzweil

Ray Kurzweil is an American computer scientist, inventor and futurist who had worked in optical character recognition, speech recognition and more technologies. Authoring many books on technology, health and futurism, Kurzweil received 1999 National Medal of Technology and Innovation, United States’ highest honor in technology.

In 2002 he was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame, established by the U.S. Patent office. Kurzweil had received 21 honorary doctorates and honors from three U.S. presidents, Wikipedia cites.
