Apple Event recently held on September 7 of this year, allured the tech-world with Apple unleashing more than half a dozen products with stunning looks and new features, grabbing attention worldwide, as usual.
Apple takes a dig, unearthing several new features in its iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max which of-course needs appreciation and talk.
What’s New in iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max?
Design – Pill Shaped Cutout
Ever since Apple introduced iPhone X in 2017, this is the first time the firm redesigns the handset by replacing the notch with pill-shaped cutout that’s actually gets a name – ‘Dynamic Island’ and customed to perform a handful of display effects. For this apple had moved the proximity sensor behind the display.
Dynamic Island
Making the pill cutout to be refreshing, Apple features the notifications to pop out from the pill in an animation, that fashions it as the dynamic island. Apple is really leaning into how it animates and uses the system for new notifications.
Dynamic Island will animate in variety of ways, including live activity widgets coming to life and animations and controls for music, calls and more.
When you swipe to go home, background tasks like music playback, calls will move to this island so clean, that feels as if no cutout is there, but just pop-up activity.
Always-On Display
Apple brings the Always-On Display for the first time in its iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max (iPhone 14 & iPhone 14 Plus doesn’t have that) with a new lock screen widget in iOS 16. Showing you reminders, calendar events, and weather, the always-on display removes the need of that second to wake up your phone for checking those.
Indeed, to use less battery power for being always on, the handsets feature a ‘sleep-state’ for iOS 16 that darkens the wallpapers.
New Chip with Enhanced Performance
Apple focusses on power efficiency, display, and camera by powering the all-new Apple’s A16 Bionic chip in its iPhone 14 Pro & Pro Max handsets. A16 Bionic chip is Apple’s most powerful mobile-chip yet with six-core CPU includes two high-performance cores that use 20% less power and four efficiency cores that use a third of chips from competitors. The GPU has up to 50% more memory bandwidth, and overall,
Apple says that the A16 Bionic is upward of 40% faster than rival chipsets.
A16 chip smoothens the animations in the Dynamic Island and also helps greatly for Apple’s new camera system.
New Main Camera & Ultra-Wide Camera
Apple’s next shot is with its camera, moving to a 48-megapixel from its long-established 12MP sensor. This new main camera improves the low-light photography, using a quad-pixel sensor with f/1.78 aperture and 24mm focal length.
iPhone 14 Pro & Pro Max’s ultrawide camera turns macrophotography more interesting and a 3x improvement in low light.
The flash is twice as bright as the predecessor and it reacts good to the focal length of photos. And the handset’s cinematic mode can now do 4K resolution at 30 fps and 24 fps, rendering finest outcome for shoots.

Satellite Connectivity – Emergency SOS via Satellite
The industry-first feature – Emergency SOS via Satellite in the new iPhone 14 lineup is for emergencies only and is currently only available in the US and Canada, and it’s unsure of its arrival to rest of the world. This feature connects to satellites when out of cellular and Wi-Fi coverage. For this service to work, users must be in out in the open to catch the satellite signals. As LEO satellites are constantly moving with low bandwidth.

The iPhone 14 will guide the user on where to point the phone for the best satellite connectivity and offer a small questionnaire to access the situation. The questionnaire along with follow-up messages is then sent to Apple’s centers which will then call for help. The feature will remain free for the next two years.
Car-Crash Detection
The iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 will be able to detect if you’ve been in a car crash, Apple said at its “Far Out” event Wednesday.
Apple introduced the feature when talking about the new Apple Watch Series 8, its new smartwatch. Crash detection uses two sensors to detect impacts and will automatically connect the person wearing it to emergency services, passing along their location info. It will also notify emergency contacts.
Those sensors include an axis gyroscope and high G-force accelerometer — the iPhone 14 has a new set, as well.
Both the handsets come in four variants – 128 GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB with costs as mentioned below.
