India gets its first AI-School in Kerala for tech-influenced learning

AI School of India

India welcomes its first AI-School in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, which leverages AI technology to enhance educative and learning experience.

The potential benefit of artificial intelligence makes it inexorable in implementation. There have been dozens of AI-powered innovations and discoveries rolling out in recent times and India leaps ahead in race by building a new AI-powered school. It’s not that AI like ChatGPT will be replacing teachers for tutoring, but the technology is exploited for assistive, administrative and improved learning experience for students.

Former President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the school on 29th August 2023 and it holds classes eight to twelve.

India’s First AI-School

The educational institution utilizes artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies including machine learning, natural language processing, and data analysis, into various aspects of education such as curriculum design, personalized learning, assessment and student support.

The AI-school is the collaborative effort of iLearning Engines (ILE) USA, which is a technology training platform enterprises, and Vedhik eSchool. The people working on this project are experts like former Chief Secretaries, DGPs and Vice Chancellors.

For the students from grades 8 to 12 in the school, the curriculum of the school aligns itself with the National School Accreditation Standards, which are based on the New National Educational Policy (NEP 2020). This ensures that students are in-line of the knowledge level of other Indian students.

The AI School proffers many solutions to substitute hard tasks involved in schools with the help of technology.

How AI is used in the School?

The school’s plans to deploy AI technology include:

Using AI in different level of tests, aptitude tests, which will ease the process for teachers. It helps students in planning their careers according to their interests and also provides learning tricks and memorizing techniques.

The AI even guides in acing in interviews, to communicate properly and preaches good manners. Not just in academics, but the school also prepares students for competitive exams like JEE, NEET, CUET, GMAT and IELTS. Students can indeed make use of the resources online on the school’s website.

Though the AI intrudes in administrative and other disciplines within the school, it will not replace teachers, as no machine technology could ideally perform to the level of human beings. Students at the growing stage solidly need a personal companion or connection who can be dynamic, empathetic and responsible, which any advanced technology could not achieve.
