Everything about: Tesla’s Friendly Humanoid Robot – ‘Tesla Bot’

Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk, the visionary of the future revealed the details of a humanoid robot called the ‘Tesla Bot’, which the firm focuses on producing and marketing in the following year, atleast a prototype. Tesla’s AI day presentation had this confession at its end time, with Musk adding details about ‘what & how’ regarding the bot. Here are the full ingredients of the revelment.

Future will be having robots anyway, and Tesla hits a shot in the robotic market too, Elon confirmed. In the AI event that held on August 19, he unveiled the Tesla Humanoid robot that runs on the same AI used by Tesla’s fleet of autonomous vehicles. The 5’8” tall robot about to weigh 125 pounds looks like a creepy slenderman-like robot, the photos depict.

With presentation slides, Musk also briefed the technical specs of the bot. The head of the bot will be kitted out with autopilot cameras used by Tesla’s EVs to capture and sense the environment and will display a screen on its face to provide info. Internally, the heart is Tesla’s self-driving computer.

Though Musk often posed AI to be dangerous than the deadliest nuclear war, Tesla concentrates more on AI for housing a safe environment for the technology.

“The robots are coming anyway, as Boston Dynamics videos clearly show. I will not be able to ensure that robots made by other companies are safe, but I can try my best to do so at Tesla”, Musk claims.

On the occasion of AI event, the bot, actually a man outfitted like it, danced on stage, apart from power-point slides. The robot-like man’s appearance came after a 90-minute presentation entailing the AI upgrades driving Tesla, including the Dojo supercomputer, which is a supercomputer developed by the EV firm that helps in training the cars to navigate city streets without human assistance.

This is what Elon Musk uttered about the Tesla bot:

“We should be worried about AI. What we’re trying to do here at Tesla is make useful AI that people love and is unequivocally good. It’s intended to be friendly! And navigate through a world built for humans. The bot would eliminate dangerous, repetitive, boring tasks like ‘go to the store and get … the following groceries’. The task isn’t dangerous but repetitive and boring.”

As said, Musk being the visionary of the future, is prone to forecast the future which then happens to be the reality. Likely, as he predicted in 2014 that self-driving systems would be advanced enough by 2020 that “you could literally get in the car, dive into sleep and wake up at your destination”, this time he envisions about robots.

Information of whether Tesla is about to sell the humanoid robot or its plans and its price are still covered, which may be probably revealed next year during the reveal of its prototype, we suppose.
