Well, its been more than a year killing Thanos and sacrificing Iron Man for the welfare of the people on earth and we thanked all the Super-Heroes for Thanos’ death; I meant the ‘End Game’. While happenings drive out to here, to see 281,015 dismissals of the pandemic COVID-19 amidst 4,131,037 positive cases in the globe (as of May 10,2020). The Reel super-heroes are idling, while time has been perfect now to thank all the Real Super-Heroes viz., Doctors, Health-care officials, Policemen and the Government for their incredible uplift from the holocaust, before getting into this topic.
Days have become so dramatic and technological, that abled Marvel to sell its comics visually which ricocheted highly over $1.5 Billion for almost all recently released. But the carving for the characters was done well before between 1940s and 1960s.

Story about the Creator of Super Heroes!
- Stanley Martin Lieber, revered comic book writer, editor, publisher and producer, was born on December 28, 1922 in New York city, U.S to Romanian-born Jewish immigrants Celia and Jack Lieber.
- Stanley co-created the Marvel Super-Heroes X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and the more populous Spider-Man too, with Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, co-artists in Marvel.
- Stanley was brought up endeared to books and movies of heroic roles during childhood, and had praised Errol Flynn, an actor for his heroism. This attachment to books made him fond of writing and wished to have his hand on ‘Great American Novel’.
- Since from a Jewish striving family background, Stanley appeared for many part-time jobs. He worked as office boy, delivery-boy during his schooling. He also did write obituaries and press releases that amended his writing skills. In fact, he was goaded to not give an entry to the weekly essay competition by New York Herald Tribune, since backed three times as winner continuously, claiming to give chance to others.
- After schooling, he joined the Federal Theatre Project in 1939 and sowed the way to comics by joining as an assistant in Timely Comics under Martin Goodman, in the same year. His works during initial years was drabbing since he was just to serve lame works to the company as ink-filling, proofreading, getting lunch and so on.
- Couple of months later, the door knocked for making a piece of script for Captain America Comics #3, which eventually became his comic-book debut. This story bounced for the first time with the ricocheting shield-toss of Captain America.
- Stanley used the pseudonym “Lee”, adducing that being called as comic book writer of low social status on those days and would not entertain to his dream of ‘Great American Novel’. Later called to be as, “Stan Lee”.
- Lee graduated from filling a part of comic to script the actual comics within 2 years. The first super-hero co-creation by Lee was the ‘Destroyer’ in Mystic Comics #6 in 1941. 1941 handed out numerous co-creations to Lee, amidst one as ‘Father Time’ in Captain America.
- 1941 made a dispute between Jack Kirby and Goodman, that enjoined Lee as the interim editor. He was soon held ‘editor-in-chief’ of the Timely Comics at a younger age of 19.
- Lee involved himself in US Army in 1942. He first served in telegraph & communication department and later in Training Film Division which honored him “playwright” title, one among the nine of the US Army men with the honorary title.
- During Army days, pleased by the crest of his writings, Timely Comics would ask Lee to write scenes through a letter-post on every Fridays to get finished within 2 days.
“On a particular day, the mail-man erred my letter from the letter-box. When I found this out, I rushed to the mailroom and asked the officer to open it, but he refused. I took a screw driver and unscrewed the mailbox hinges, to add my mail too. This got me to face tampering charges, but thankfully colonel of Finance Department helped to let me free from disciplinary Action”, Stanlee recalled.
- Stanlee continued as a comic-writer after serving US Army. He wrote stories on plenty of genres including romance, humor, science fiction, horror and suspense. Late 1950s made Lee of failing enthusiasm in the field, that made to think of quitting the field of writing comics.
- Later in 1950s, when DC comics espied huge success after publishing “Justice League of America”, Goodman sought Lee & Jack Kirby to create the characters to surpass the DC’s triumph. Lee & Kirby then co-created the evergreen successful “Fantastic Four”. The series created immediate success, as the Lee’s characters were so naturalistic as fellow-humans with all emotions, melancholy and vanity, that drove out the readers to love it and treat the characters more as friends.
- The eminence of the series urged and motivated Lee & Kirby for creation of many characters that led to the X-Men, Iron-Man and all the casts till Spider-Man. Timely had changed to Marvel Comics, and became the grandeur of the comics realm.
- The characters lived in a shared-universe, turned to be Marvel Universe with the newly created casts sorted to the group called “Avengers”. The characters of the Marvel were so successful amidst the teens and children and became the most populous comics.
- In 1966, Lee partnered with John Romita Sr and created ‘Amazing Spider Man’. Then with Gene Colan and created ‘Falcon’ in 1969. Stanlee also helped to reform the Comics code of the Comics Code Authority by prescribing the danger of drugs in three subplots in Amazing Spider Man, by the suggestion of US Health Department.
- Stanlee was done with writing monthly comics in 1972 and switched to be a publisher, executive producer and public face of the Marvel. Since then, he was a figure-head for Marvel and attended lectures, conventions and discussions. Lee did too cameo roles in a number of marvel movies.
- Stanlee wrote first time for the rival, DC Comics in 2001 for the ‘Just Image Series’, a re-imagination of DC super-heroes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and the Flash.
- Lee also co-started a company with Gill Champion and Arthur Lieberman, “POW! (Purveyors of Wonder) Entertainment”, for developing film, television and video-game properties in 2001.
- 2002 led Stanlee to sue Marvel, failing to give the shares of the profit of 10%, which it priorly agreed. Later in 2005, Marvel and Lee went with an undisclosed 7 figure amount.
- 2012 saw more new ventures. Lee co-wrote a graphic novel, Romeo and Juliet: The War, which landed on The New York Times‘ best-seller list and launched a YouTube channel, Stan Lee’s World of Heroes, which features comics, comedy and sci-fi content. At the end of the year, the ever-active Lee turned 90.
- He received a Medal of Arts honor from President George W. Bush and launched the History Channel show Stan Lee’s Superhumans, a series that looked at people with remarkable skills and abilities.
- Stanlee married Joan Clayton Boocook on Dec 5 1947 and had a daughter, Joan Celia Lee in 1950. Lee lost his wife of nearly 70 years, as she died due to complications of stroke in 2017, aged 95.
- Later then, revered writer StanLee left the world on November 12, 2018, diseased by “aspiration pneumonia”, sudden cardiac arrest with respiratory and congestive heart failure.
Epilogue
In the world of many conflicts, disasters and mistakes, we all rush to our berth, of-course though essential, but disdaining those social & economic responsibilities saying, ‘must be fixed by others’ is ridiculous in third man’s perspective. Fixing those, needs super-humans, so called ‘Super-Heroes’, the thinking of many. But this man who wrote for the comics, construed for the first time in 1941 by deducing ‘Super-Heroes’ as real-time humans with all emotions, burdens, love and family takings.
